What this filing does

Commercial-driver screening with clear authorization and decision controls

A background screen is not one universal report. Mann Registration helps carriers define the role and permitted purpose, coordinate the selected authorized checks, track disclosures and authorizations, reconcile exceptions, and organize the result with the correct hiring records. The employer remains responsible for lawful criteria and every hiring or adverse-action decision.

What Mann does—and what the agency decides

Mann Registration can coordinate approved screening steps and help organize resulting records. Mann is not a consumer reporting agency, legal counsel, or the hiring employer, and does not determine eligibility, accuracy of third-party records, or employment outcomes.

Common questions

Background Checks FAQ

Is a commercial-driver background check the same as an MVR?

No. An MVR is a state driving record. A broader employment background screen can include identity, criminal-record, employment, or other permitted checks. Driver hiring may also require separate PSP, Clearinghouse, prior-employer, medical-qualification, testing, and driver-file steps.

Does every check require the same consent?

No. The source, purpose, state, report type, and employment decision can trigger different disclosure, authorization, notice, and record-use requirements. The employer should use current forms and obtain legal guidance for its screening program.

Who decides whether a driver is hired?

The carrier or employer makes the hiring decision using lawful, job-related, consistently applied standards. Mann Registration can coordinate authorized screening and organize records but does not make the employment decision.

What happens if a consumer report may affect the hiring decision?

The Fair Credit Reporting Act and state law may require a pre-adverse-action process, a copy of the report and rights notice, a reasonable opportunity to review or dispute information, and a final adverse-action notice. Employers should obtain legal guidance for the exact workflow.

Can I submit a Social Security number through the public form?

No. Use the public form only to request service. Social Security numbers, driver-license numbers, dates of birth, reports, medical information, and other sensitive records must use the secure process provided by authorized staff.

Mann Registration is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the applicable record source, regulator, or court. The responsible agency or program makes all final eligibility and filing decisions.
