DOT driver compliance support
Driver compliance is a connected operating system: qualification and hiring records, license and medical status, driving-record review, Clearinghouse queries, drug and alcohol testing, hours-of-service and ELD records, training, and documented follow-up. Mann Registration helps organize these workflows and identify record gaps.
Build one workflow from hiring through separation
A complete file is not a one-time packet. Pre-employment inquiries, license/medical status, annual MVR review, Clearinghouse, testing, HOS, training, incidents, expirations, and retention continue on different schedules.
Separate data access from compliance decisions
Background, MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, medical, and testing information has consent, permissible-purpose, role, and privacy controls. Access should be limited to authorized staff and the minimum information needed.
- Application and employment-history workflow
- License, medical, MVR, and annual review
- Road test or accepted equivalent where applicable
- Clearinghouse queries and consent
- Testing program and event records
- HOS/ELD training, review, and corrective action
Use exception queues instead of memory
Track missing, expiring, overdue, inconsistent, and restricted items by driver with an owner and evidence. A dashboard is useful only when the source documents and follow-up process are reliable.
How to move forward
- 1
Inventory drivers and programs
Confirm driver roles, vehicles, licenses, routes, and applicable federal/state programs.
- 2
Audit each file
Compare source records to the current checklist and recurring due dates.
- 3
Resolve exceptions
Assign owners, obtain lawful evidence, document decisions, and restrict unsafe dispatch.
- 4
Monitor continuously
Track expirations, annual reviews, queries, tests, HOS issues, and retention.
What Mann does—and what the agency decides
Mann Registration can help collect facts, prepare filings, organize records, and track follow-up. Mann is an independent private service provider, not Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and applicable state agencies, and cannot approve an application, change an agency record without the required process, give legal or tax advice, or guarantee timing or results.
Frequently asked questions
What is a driver qualification file?
It is the carrier-maintained record of required driver application, inquiry, qualification, certification, and recurring review documents under applicable rules.
Does an MVR check replace the Clearinghouse?
No. They address different information and requirements.
Does every driver need an ELD?
ELD applicability depends on whether the driver must maintain records of duty status and whether an exception applies. HOS duties can remain even when an ELD exception applies.
Can the public website assistant review a driver file?
No. Do not submit private driver, medical, testing, license, or account records through the public assistant. Contact the office for an approved secure process.
